Washington: US President Joe Biden says that the US will not apologize to China for shooting down a spy balloon.
Speaking to the media at the White House, US President Joe Biden claimed that China was using the balloon for espionage, but the three bodies shot down in North America were not spying for any country.
The US president said that he will discuss the balloon issue with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping. We do not want a new cold war but will get to the bottom of this matter.
‘Don’t get the wrong idea,’ Joe Biden said. If something poses a threat to American citizens, it will be removed.
China has denied using the balloon for espionage. According to China, the balloon was being used to gather weather information and had strayed from its course. The Chinese balloon was 40,000 feet above the Atlantic Ocean when it was shot down by an American warplane.
