Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif returned home after a 2-day visit to China

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif returned to Islamabad after completing his visit to China. In a joint statement between the People’s Republic of China and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, it was said that Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif paid an official visit to the People’s Republic of China from November 1 to 2. This was the Prime Minister’s first bilateral visit to China after assuming the post of Prime Minister. During the visit, Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif met Chinese President Xi Jinping. The Prime Minister held talks with Premier Li Keqiang of the State Council and met with Li Zhanshu, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress. The Prime Minister congratulated President Xi Jinping on his re-election as the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and commended him for his leadership, wisdom, vision and philosophy of development for the people and for continuously strengthening Pakistan-China relations. Appreciated the services of The Prime Minister welcomed President Xi for his visit to Pakistan. President Xi said that he will visit Pakistan soon. The two leaders have reiterated their commitment to further strengthen bilateral relations. Shahbaz Sharif expressed his best wishes for the successful conclusion of the 20th session of the National Congress of the Communist Party of China. He appreciated the central role of the Communist Party and its leadership in promoting China’s development, prosperity and national unity. He praised China’s success in socio-economic development and the role of the Communist Party in reforming world politics and governance philosophy. The Chinese leaders appreciated Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s long-standing commitment to the friendship between Pakistan and China. Shahbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s determination to further strengthen the strategic cooperative partnership between Pakistan and China and promote practical cooperation in all fields. The parties discussed in detail the bilateral relations as well as the regional situation and the international political scenario and agreed on the importance of China-Pakistan strategic cooperative partnership in the face of emerging global challenges. During the meetings, traditional warmth, mutual strategic trust and convergence of ideas were found.
