Rawalpindi: In the case of Pakistani-American woman Vijaya Swati, the main accused ex-husband Rizwan Habib was sentenced to death and fined 5 lakh rupees. Additional District and Sessions Judge Rawalpindi Afzal Majuka delivered the verdict, 4 senior officials of the American Embassy, American FBI team officials were also present in the court room.
There was a dispute between the deceased and her ex-husband over property worth billions of rupees. The criminal called the deceased from America to Pakistan to resolve the matter through discussion. As soon as she came to Rawalpindi, Pakistan, the criminal along with her father and employees killed her brutally on October 17, 2021. Daya and the dead body were hidden in a carpet from Morgah Police Station and put in the trunk of the car and buried in a pit in Laki Marwat area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Later, the secret was revealed on the arrest and the body was also recovered. The court pronounced the verdict of the case. The main accused ex-husband was hanged for the crime of murder and fined Rs. Sultan, the employee, was sentenced to seven years imprisonment and a fine of one lakh rupees for desecrating the dead body. The three accused Zahid, Rashid and Zahida Bibi were acquitted. 4 officers from the American Embassy and the American FBI were also present in the courtroom. It is to be remembered that accused Rizwan Habib killed his ex-wife Wajiha Swati by calling Pakistan to settle a property dispute worth billions of rupees.
