The mother of senior journalist Arshad Sharif, who died in Kenya, has requested the formation of a judicial commission to investigate the murder of her son. In a letter to the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Arshad Sharif’s mother has also demanded to take notice of the government’s behavior and provide justice. Arshad Sharif’s mother Rifat Ara Alvi has said in a letter written to Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandyal that Arshad Sharif had written to her on May 12 to inform her of the dangers, and in the letter also informed her of baseless cases of treason. Arshad Sharif had to seek refuge outside the country because of the dangers. Rifat Ara Alvi has written that when Arshad Sharif arrived in Dubai, he was relieved that he was now out of danger, but the government put pressure on the UAE government, on which Arshad Sharif had to leave Dubai. After leaving Dubai, Arshad Sharif had to go to Kenya. , where he was brutally martyred. The letter states that the Prime Minister announced the formation of a judicial commission in his statement, but the formation of a commission headed by a retired judge shows the government’s malice. Arshad Sharif’s mother has further said that the Kenyan police changed their position 3 to 4 times, the ministers fabricated stories before the investigative team left. Rifat Aara Alvi has written that the widow and orphans of Arshad Sharif want nothing but justice, the outrage of their families and the journalist community will be less than justice, justice by placing their case in the court of Allah. Rifat Ara Alvi has said in the letter that the attitude of the government should be taken into consideration regarding the brutal murder of Arshad Sharif, the case should be saved from controversy, political hypocrisy and dishonesty and justice should be given to the family.
