Import restrictions will be lifted when the economic and currency situation improves Aisha Ghos Pasha

Minister of State for Finance and Revenue Aisha Ghos Pasha has said that the import restrictions will be removed as soon as the economic situation of the country improves and the pressure on the currency ends. Senate Standing Committee on Finance and Revenue met in Parliament House Islamabad under the chairmanship of Senator Saleem Mandviwala. In which committee members, Minister of State for Finance and Revenue Dr. Ayesha Ghos Pasha, State Bank and senior officials of the Ministry of Finance participated. Officials of the Malakand Chamber of Commerce and Industry made recommendations. Among the recommendations presented are points like exemption from federal excise duty to steel and cooking oil industries, refund of input tax credit, tax exemption on electricity bills to ghee and steel industries and extension of tax exemption for another five years. Included. Minister of State for Finance and Revenue Ayesha Ghos Pasha said that the government had to impose some restrictions due to severe economic pressure and in the best interest of the country, the import of non-essential and luxury goods was banned. Ayesha Ghos Pasha said that the restrictions will be eased when the economic and currency situation improves. The committee members advised the authorities of the State Bank and Ministry of Finance and Revenue to consider specific import requests and try to eliminate the problems faced by the traders in this regard.
