Trump’s Twitter account has been restored, but now the former US president is avoiding it

Twitter owner Elon Musk has reinstated former US President Donald Trump’s account, but now the former US president has vaguely refused to return to the micro-blogging website. Donald Trump was very active on Twitter as US President, regularly using the micro-blogging website to express his opinions, announce important government decisions and criticize opponents. On January 6, 2021, Donald Trump’s Twitter account was blocked due to an inflammatory tweet, at which time he had around 88 million followers. Last month, Elon Musk, who bought Twitter, conducted a survey to find out the opinion of users on the issue of restoring Donald Trump’s account. More than one and a half million users gave their opinion in this survey which lasted for 24 hours. 51.8% of users voted for account recovery while 48.2% of users voted against it. After the survey ended, Elon Musk said in his tweet that people have expressed their opinion according to which Trump will be reinstated. On the other hand, Donald Trump has given a vague answer regarding his return to Twitter. He said during a speech at an event, ‘I’m listening to a large number of votes for my return to Twitter, but I don’t want to use this platform.’ But there seems no reason to go. Donald Trump has been the president of the United States and he is in the race of candidates in the presidential election of 2024 on behalf of his party (Republican Party).
